    Ali Haydar Efendi, son devir Osmanlı âlimlerinden olup döneminin önde gelen hukukçularındandır. Yargı görevlerinde bulunmuş ve yükseköğretim kurumlarında uzun yıllar Mecelle-i Ahkâm-ı Adliyye ve Arazi hukuku derslerini okutmuştur. Dürerü’l-Hukkâm adlı eseri Osmanlı medeni kanunu olarak nitelendirebileceğimiz Mecelle’nin önemli şerhlerinden biridir.
